Alaska's Miners & Trappers Ball will be held the last Saturday of the Fur Rendezvous, "Rondy", in Anchorage, March 1st, at the Egan Visitors and Convention Center, starting at 7:30 p.m, until Last call at 1:00a.m. Tickets are $ 30.00, on sale at the following locations in Anchorage:

Features of the Ball:
World Class Beard Championship Contest – Selecting, Alaska’s renown, “Mr. FUR FACE”, the best Beard found in Alaska. We want to invite/encourage bearded gents from across the state to come compete. This is a great start to preparing for the World Beard & Mustache Competition which Alaska's Miners & Trappers Ball will sponsor in Anchorage, Alaska, May 2009. The big Question??? Will you be the next MR. FUR FACE? There will be a first and second place prize in each Beard category plus the grand prize - Mr. Fur Face Trophy, who will be selected from among the winners of each category. Costume Contest - For any imaginable, conceivable creation one might wish to compete with or just wear for fun. Costumes are not required but most attendees like to wear them. There is a category for anything that comes along and there will be a prize for: the best man, best woman, best couple, best group (that being 3 or more together) in every category, plus the potential for honorable mentions, as judges see fit and from all the winners in each category a “GRAND PRIZE” Costume will be chosen.

Music and Dancing to 2 or 3 Live Bands. A variety of music to suit most tastes for listening or dancing. We will post the chosen bands when they are confirmed.
