Miners' and Trappers Charity Ball

Alaska's Miners & Trappers Charity Ball to be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Egan Visitors and Convention Center at 6:30 pm. The theme of the 2016 is Miners & Trappers Charity Ball presents Get Your Kicks at OUR 66th! Tickets are $30 and available for purchase at Dooley’s, Party World, PartyCraft, and at

Please note the time schedule: Lobby Doors open at 5:30 PM, Ball Start 6:30 PM, The State of Alaska Beard & Moustache Championships 7:00 PM, Costume Contest 9:00 PM.

Alaska winds from Juneau up to Prudoe Bay! More than 6 thousand miles and all 1 way! So get your kicks at the Miners & Trapper’s 66th!

Now you can go through Eagle River, Girdwood and Nome - Oh that Anchorage city is not too far from home! You see black bears & mooses, Canadian Gooses, Miners and Trappers and even some Campers!

Features of the Ball:
The State of Alaska Beard & Moustache Championships – the Beard Contest winner receives the title, “Mr. FUR FACE”. We want to invite/encourage bearded gents from across the state to come compete. The big Question to ask yourself??? Will you be the next MR. FUR FACE? There will be a first and second place prize in each Beard category plus the grand prize - the Mr. Fur Face Trophy, who will be selected from among the winners of each category. The Miners & Trappers Charity Ball also offers a Costume Contest. For any imaginable, conceivable creation one might wish to compete with or just wear for fun and excitement. Costumes are not required but most attendees like to wear them and make the ball a memorable experience. There are seven categories; the winning costume in each category receives a trophy/plaque. The best man, best woman, best couple, and the best group (that being 3 or more together) in every category, plus the potential for honorable mentions, as judges see fit will be recognized and photographed as such. The winners of each category will compete for the “GRAND PRIZE”. Costume will be chosen. To see the categories go to The Event/Costume Brochure.

Music and Dancing to a Live Band & DJ. A variety of music to suit most tastes for listening or dancing.
